KINGS OF THRACE. Mostis, circa 139/8-101/0 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.47 g, 12 h), RY 38 = 102/1. Diademed and draped bust of Mostis to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΜΟΣΤΙΔΟΣ / ΕΠΙ ΣΑΔΑΛΟ[Υ] / ΕΤΟΥ[Σ ΛΗ] Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with gorgoneion; in inner left field, monogram. HGC 3.2, 1727. Peykov C4500. Peykov, Mostis (2015), - (O4/-). SNG BM Black Sea 309 var. (same obverse die, but differing reverse monogram). Very rare. Struck on an irregular flan from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.
